My story and why it's important to you...
Over ten years ago, I had the good fortune to attend 6 of my dearest friends' weddings in 9 months time. Each couple was unique and had very different receptions and parties, but one thing stood out to me: their ceremonies all seemed so generic and some of them had the exact same ceremony!
I knew that people getting married spent a lot of time planning every aspect of their special day, mainly because I, too, had gone through that process. My wife and I went to multiple cake tastings to find the right cake. We looked at 4 different pink swatches for what seemed like hours trying to determine which one matched the pink elements in her dress just right. And the ceremony was so important to me that I personally wrote it and asked a friend to perform it for us.
So when I lamented the fact that most people left that part out – that the ceremony had become an afterthought instead of the central moment of the day, my wife did what every good wife does. She told me:
"Do something about it."
I immediately set about finding out what I could do to support people getting married in making sure that their ceremony was about them and not just some boilerplate script that could fit anyone, anytime. My cousin was getting married soon and heard about my adventure. She became client number 1. At her wedding, a friend of my uncle's thought my ceremony was so beautiful that he wanted me to perform his daughter's wedding the following month even though they had already booked an officiant.
So that's how it all began.
10+ years later and I have performed hundreds of ceremonies for people in many different situations and each one has been struck with just how personal and fitting their ceremony has been. Check out my reviews page to see for yourself!
